Fix This, Barack

The aim is to mobilize the heavily underused resource that is behind the failing economic engine - human ingenuity and hard work.

1. Carrot: Open free vocational training centers. Use tax-breaks and other incentive to companies who hire vocational graduates for at least a year.

2. Stick: Get people off their a**es. Make the unemployment handout amount and support period dependent on vocational training and/or proof of active job-seeking. Offer government jobs. God knows there are too many things that the government needs to do right now.

3. Communicate: Necessity is the mother of invention. Desperation is the midwife. We need to know how desperate the situation is.
